International Vintage Glider Meeting
The Centro Tecnico Federale di Volo a Vela is organising
an International Vintage Glider Meeting in the airport of Asiago from
3rd to 11th September 2010.
The city of Asiago is specially linked to the history of gliding in Italy,
as it was the city to host the 1st International Gliding Competition in
Italy in October 1924, on the slope of Mount Sisemol.
An invitation to participate is extended particularly to all vintage glider
organizations which restore to flying condition all those old machines,
that made the history of gliding.
The airport of Asiago, open to tourist traffic, is one of the oldest airfield
in Italy. It is located at 1039m above sea level and it is situated at
about 1km from the city of Asiago. There are 2 runways, one in asphalt
of 1120X23m and one grass of 1100X90m. Flying conditions are ideal for
gliding.
Asiago offers several opportunities for the free time and the sport activities
and it is the ideal site for a Healthy vacation with the family.
